Matthew Driscoll is a master of detail and organization. He has produced a winning program at UNF and is known for his ability to improve individuals and teams. Now, you get the opportunity to see it all in action! Watch as Coach Driscoll runs a practice with intensity and attention to the little things that make teams and players great.

Film Session

One of the great equalizers of basketball is preparation in the film room. Not often do you get to sit in on a film session with Division I athletes and coaches and get to see how its done. To begin this practice, you'll get just that! Coach Driscoll dissects clips to reinforce his team's defensive principles. You'll see how Coach Driscoll uses these clips to teach and reinforce their key terminology through a discussion with his team.

Practice

Next, transition to the court to watch the Ospreys in action. They begin with two warm-up drills to work on their press offense/breaks 5-on-0. With the Scrape Drill, they work on specific reads and passes as they go full speed in the full court. You will see two great press breaks to attack any press defense!

Coach Driscoll provides a great shooting drill that works on jumpers from different angles and threes from different spots with Red Zone Shooting. This is great for getting up game shots in bulk, especially if you have multiple baskets.

This practice is heavy on full court transition. The Ospreys practice transition offense and defense with the Transition Build-Up drill and a full court 5 on 5 game. One of the best parts about this is getting to see Coach Driscoll teach as he corrects and instructs his team.

Any opportunity to watch a college basketball practice is valuable development for all coaches. Getting a seat in a film session and watching one of the most respected coaches in the country teach with intensity and detail is a must watch!
