Frank Martin has established himself as one of the elite coaches in the NCAA today.  His teams are renowned for their toughness and indomitable spirit.  In this video, you will see Frank Martin in his purest form as a practice coach.  His attention to detail and demanding presence will show you how you can instill the toughness and relentless attack that his teams display every year.  If you want to know more about how he creates competitive toughness in his teams, this is the video for you.

Full Court Competitive Drills

Coach Martin begins the practice by getting his team into competitive full court competitions.  During the first segment of practice, you will see how Coach Martin builds up his transition concepts and ignites the competitive fire by starting in 3v3 full court drills that are designed to challenge his players while at the same time working on offensive concepts.

You will see his emphasis of attacking both as an offensive philosophy and a defensive philosophy as he runs his players through these disadvantage drills.  He eventually builds up to a 5v5 drill called the Miami drill that works on his defensive communication along with his transition offense actions.  He cools his players down by breaking them into 1v1 and 2v2 groups to work on the ball pressure and off the ball coverage.

Half Court Segment

Next, Coach Martin breaks his offensive sets down into the sets he is installing.  During this segment of practice, you will see the details behind 3 offensive sets that any coach would love to add to their offensive package.

"Horns Twist," "Stack Twist," and "Horns side" offer dynamic actions that attack defenses with multiple offensive concepts.  Through his breakdown, Coach Martin gives his players, along with you, key teaching points to elevate the effectiveness of each set!

Small-Sided Defensive Breakdowns

Coach Martin finishes the practice with several drills designed to challenge his players through disadvantage scenarios.  One such drill utilizes 3v0 shooting that transitions into 2v1 back into 3v2 to create a competitive shooting scenario in which your players are getting game-like shots.

Martin utilizes his shell breakdowns during this time to focus on communication and positioning.  You will see the intricate teaching points he uses to keep the ball out of the middle of the lane against all opponents.  This segment has a wealth of different ideas and drills that you can adopt and modify to fit your style.

Customer Review: 5 Out of 5 Stars! "Coach Martin is the absolute best at getting his teams to compete with a competitive edge. Watching his practice will help you understand what it takes in order to instill that type of attitude into your team!"
